What a ‘novel’ idea!

A shop in Newport is offering Free Books to the general public. The store, at the Pill end of Newport's Commercial Street, with shelves lined with donated books, is run by the Global Educational Trust.

Whilst the majority of us would say they still love a good, physical book, they are perhaps overshadowed where digital technology is concerned with the rise in eBook sales. This, coupled with the cost of books makes this shop in Newport so important. Hundreds of thousands of books go to landfill each year, and in a time where sustainability and taking care of our environment is key this just amplifies how innovative a project this is.
